Asian spirits refer to the characters in Asian mythology who are neither divine nor mortal. They are usually entities that have been created with the intent to do harm via activities like black magic or who have been created by divine beings to help them in their activities.

The concept of spirits are different from that of ghosts, which are usually related to the souls of mortals who have passed on. They tend to be very active in the cosmology and help in moving many of the traditions and folklore forward. They can either exist peacefully with mortals in the earthly realm or be in constant direct conflict based on their role.

Asian spirits tend to be a major part of mythologies of South East Asia due to the many influences from other cultures and tribes of the region.
