Cherokee spirits are the non divine and non human characters in the mythology, traditions, legends and folklore of the Cherokee tribe of the United States of America. They are usually souls or spirits of mortal beings who have since passed.

The tradition of revering or worshipping ancestors is common among almost all the Native American tribes and this carries on if the ancestor or key historical figure was a person of great stature or importance. The other kind of spirits that are worshipped include characters or beings from other realms that co exist with the humans and help them.

Characters that are in conflict with the human beings are also common in Cherokee mythology.
