There are many different beliefs systems in Africa, as the continent has so many different cultures. There are no single God in Africa, as each region has its own god and goddesses based on their practices. African Gods are also woven into the fabric of many cultures’ cultural heritage.

The influence of Egyptian religion cannot be discounted nor can the modern influence of Islam and Christianity. The practice of worshipping these ancient Gods and Goddesses from mythology in Africa is still hugely important today, the names of some gods are even used as first or family names in some areas.
