Mediterranean demigods are usually the offspring of a god with a human being or animal but they can also be the god itself in human form. They should not be confused with regular human beings who have been blessed by the gods with special abilities. They are also usually not immortal.

Mediterranean demigods refer to the various characters in Greek and Roman mythology who have certain powers that put them on a higher level than the mortal human beings. They are usually a resident of both the godly and human realms and frequently move between them and involve themselves in the lives of both residents. Demigods here are usually depicted as having positive attributes from both parents.

Mediterranean demigods have also been represented as being in conflict with either the gods on behalf of the human or vice versa. They can either be the protagonist or the antagonist in most stories that revolve around them. They also have important roles to play as a protector or saviour of the humans they interact directly with.
