Home  |  Gods   |  Asian Gods   |  Chinese Gods

Chinese gods are a core element of Chinese Mythology and the customs and beliefs of the people of the region. Chinese Mythology tend to be considered factual historic representations rather than stories by the believers and most of the gods that are worshipped are also considered to be former emperors or real historical figures.

Gods fall under various categories with some being supreme gods with absolute powers who pass the baton on from one to another while there are also a few lesser gods who are given the responsibility of a particular aspect of the people of erstwhile China.

China being the trade centre of Asia ensured that its mythology and religion was spread far and wide by the traders who also brought with them beliefs and gods of the other regions as well.
