Celtic mortals and heroes help establish the core lineage of various modern European and Caucasian cultures and the pride that is taken in the history is second to none. There is a huge debate on whether these mythological characters were actual people with glorified stories that became grander over time.

The relative age of these cultures also add to the confusion as written and oral history were much more established at the time these characters were supposed to exist. There have been plenty of instances where a striking resemblance in actual figures in history have been found with the mythical ones.
