Indian Hybrids refer to the collection of characters in Indian mythology that have very clear and distinct human characteristics along with that of other animals and living beings. These characters play both major and minor roles in mythology and are important in imparting the sense of wonder and excitement to the folklore.

Some of these Indian hybrids have branched out and created their own set of followers and have been begun to be regarded as gods in their own right. However, their role in actual mythology is limited to being a friend or supporter to the gods, mortals and demigods. In many case they also play the opposite role by emerging as the main antagonist in these stories.
