Balkan Animals refer to the list of fantastical beasts that are a part of the vast mythology of the Baltic region which covers the modern European countries of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. Animals from the mythologies of neighbouring countries like Russia and Turkey also tend to find a place in Balkan mythology because of the proximity. The influence of these regions can also be seen in the Balkan Mythology as a whole.

These animals tend to be a lot more fantastical that others with the main focus being on various types of dragons and creatures with multiple heads. Giants and flying monsters are also a common theme in the mythology. They also tend to have similarities with animals from Baltic mythology.
